Mission – The Aberfoyle Community Centre Inc responds to individual and community needs by facilitating a diverse and accessible range of social, leisure, recreational and educational activities that develop personal growth, encourage well-being and a sense of identity.


Aims & Objectives  –We endeavour to:

  • Plan and implement quality and affordable programs in response to community needs.
  • Provide a welcoming environment that fosters participation and community spirit.
  • Encourage, acknowledge, support and train volunteers within the Centre.
  • Develop working partnerships, network with other agencies and professional bodies to continue to create positive pathways for local residents.

Several local groups meet at the Centre.    They provide a wide range of activities for residents. From arts and craft to computing or general interest to adult education. Group activities are listed on the Centre Calendar page.   The Centre is a vibrant, living and evolving part of the local community and continues to aim to meet the needs of the residents.

JP at the Community Centre  

We offer a JP at the Centre  –  every Tuesday during school term from 11.30am – 12 noon by appointment only.   Book at Reception or ring 8270 5377






Cultural Trail

Grab a plate and take the cultural trail. Taste some treats from around the world.   African drumming performance, come and try some drumming too.   Family friendly event, BYO drinks.
Cost :  $5.00 per adult, children under 12 free   * up to 2 children per family free  $3.00 per additional child

New Playgroup – Mondays 9.30 – 11.30am

Open for all ages  0 – 5 years, hosted with activities. Organised craft activities for older children.
Playgroups that focus on building friendships and information sharing in a friendly setting. Enjoy the opportunity to share time and experiences with other parents and children.

Community Sisters Women’s Program (formerly known as Being a Woman)

Dates in 2017 :  Friday  17 Feb, 17 March, 19 May ,23 June, 18 Aug, 22 Sept,  20 Oct, 17 Nov,
Time : 11.45am – 1.45pm
Cost :  $7.00  –  payment in advance , for catering reasons
Women of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
Crèche available – gold coin donation, bookings are essential


Tuesday Talk and Tea

Community afternoon tea.
Interesting guest speakers, opportunity to chat and enjoy afternoon tea with locals.
Dates :  Tuesday 7 March, 13 June, 26 September & 21 November 2017
Time : 1.30 – 3.00pm
Cost :  $6.00 per person


Yoga  –  Energise and Balance    

Now on Thursday evenings.   Re-commencing : Thursday 2 February 2017
Times :   Beginners/begin again   6 – 7.10pm
In the flow (general)   7.15 – 8.35pm
A beautiful class that is nourishing for heart, body, mind and soul. The practice is gentle yet dynamic and helps promote flexibility, strength, inner balance, energy and holistic wellbeing. Includes breath awareness, asana, flow movements, meditation, energy balancing and relaxation. A general class suitable for beginners and all abilities. Comfortable ambient environment.

Aberfoyle Community Centre and BankSA have joined together in an Alliance to raise funds for the Centre to purchase equipment When you take out a New Home Loan or move your Existing Home Loan to BankSA, mention the Community Centre and BankSA will give an agreed % of the settled loan amount as a commission to help fundraise for the Centre. The Centre has a Hall/rooms, kitchen, crèche room & playground available for hire for private parties, corporate functions, educational seminars and regular activities. Any questions regarding hiring of a venue can be answered by one of our admin staff.
