Vision – Aberfoyle Community Centre Inc. – A Welcoming Place to Engage and Grow.

 

Mission – The Aberfoyle Community Centre Inc responds to individual and community needs by facilitating a diverse and accessible range of social, leisure, recreational and educational activities that develop personal growth, encourage well-being and a sense of identity.

 

Aims & Objectives  –We endeavour to:

  • Plan and implement quality and affordable programs in response to community needs.
  • Provide a welcoming environment that fosters participation and community spirit.
  • Encourage, acknowledge, support and train volunteers within the Centre.
  • Develop working partnerships, network with other agencies and professional bodies to continue to create positive pathways for local residents.

Several local groups meet at the Centre.    They provide a wide range of activities for residents. From arts and craft to computing or general interest to adult education. Group activities are listed on the Centre Calendar page.   The Centre is a vibrant, living and evolving part of the local community and continues to aim to meet the needs of the residents.

JP at the Community Centre  

We offer a JP at the Centre  –  every Tuesday during school term from 11.30am – 12 noon by appointment only.   Book at Reception or ring 8270 5377

ALL Aboard the Nature Train

 

Tuesday 24 October 2017

1.00pm – 2.30pm.

 

Travel along the imaginary tracks and participate in different ‘nature themed’ activities. When you hear the conductor’s whistle, follow the train tracks to the next activity station.

 

Aimed at pre-school aged children and their carer.

 

Join in all the activities supported by “The Climbing Tree” including nature craft, loose parts and cubby building.

 

FREE EVENT but Bookings are essential

Multi Cultural Kitchen – cooking program for adults from non-English speaking backgrounds only

 

Interactive demonstrations, food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen practice with Chef Anita

 

English language speaking and listening skills and kitchen vocabulary support with an Educator

 

6 week program includes lunch

Bookings essential, payment in advance

Join this social group where you can share your experience with others.

Tuesday Talk and Tea

Community afternoon tea.
Interesting guest speakers, opportunity to chat and enjoy afternoon tea with locals.
Dates :  Tuesday 7 March, 13 June, 26 September & 21 November 2017
Time : 1.30 – 3.00pm
Cost :  $6.00 per person

The Centre has a Hall/rooms, kitchen, crèche room & playground available for hire for private parties, corporate functions, educational seminars and regular activities. Any questions regarding hiring of a venue can be answered by one of our admin staff.
